Polaroid Style Photo Prints,
Not Printed Borders

Most polaroid style photo prints are lab paper with a white band printed along the bottom. Ours are genuine Fujifilm Instax film, so the border is a real edge you can feel.

What polaroid-style actually means

(And what it usually isn't.)

Search for polaroid style prints and most of what comes back is photo paper trimmed into a rectangle with a white margin printed onto it. On a screen it passes. In your hand it gives itself away in about a second: the border is ink, the sheet flexes like a postcard, and the surface is the same paper stock as any other order from the same lab.

Real instant film is built differently. Every sheet is a sealed packet of chemical layers wrapped in a plastic frame, which is why the white border sits slightly proud of the image instead of being part of it. The sheet is stiff, closer to a credit card than to paper, and the face has a deep gloss that catches light the way instant photos always have. That combination of thickness, gloss and a physical frame is what people are reaching for when they say "polaroid style" — not the shape of the border.

One honest note: Polaroid is a brand, and we don't use Polaroid-brand film. We print on Fujifilm Instax, the instant film most people are actually picturing. If you want the full breakdown of how the two films differ in color, contrast and price, we wrote Polaroid vs Instax.

How it works

Three steps, all in your phone's browser. No app, no account, no camera.

1

Upload your photos

Pull them straight from your camera roll — saved posts and screenshots work too. Pick a pack of 5, 10 or 20 and upload that many.

2

Crop and filter

Drag each photo to frame it inside the border, then choose Original, Instant, Vintage, Film or Dreamy. What you see is what gets printed.

3

We print and ship

Your photos go onto genuine Instax film and ship within 5 business days. Free USPS shipping with tracking, US addresses.

If you'd rather see the whole process written out first, how to turn photos into polaroids walks through which photos hold up on film and how to frame them before you order.

Mini is the classic shape — tall, small, easy to tape to a wall or tuck into a card. Square has a bigger image area and reads better in a frame or on a desk. There's a full rundown on the mini photo prints and square photo prints pages if you're torn.

Styles available right now

One border style per order: pick Classic White or Monochrome when you choose your pack.

Classic White

The border everyone pictures: white frame, wide strip along the bottom. It's the default for a reason — it works on a gallery wall, in a scrapbook, or taped above a desk, and the bottom strip is wide enough to hand-write a date or a name on.

Monochrome

Your photo converted to black and white before it hits the film. Good for busy backgrounds, mixed lighting, and any shot where the color was fighting the subject. Same white film frame, no color to distract from it.

More border styles are coming as we stock more film. For now these two are the ones we can print and ship today, and both work in Mini and Square — so every combination of polaroid style photo prints on this page is in stock right now.

Real film vs a printed border

Same photo, two very different objects. Here's where they split.

Real Instax film
Paper with a printed border
The border
A physical plastic frame around the film packet
White ink printed on the same sheet as the photo
Feel in hand
Stiff, closer to a credit card than a photo
Flexible, bends and creases like a postcard
Surface
Deep gloss with visible depth under the image
Flat matte or gloss paper coating
Color
Film's own softer contrast and warm highlights
Neutral, lab-accurate reproduction of your file
What it is
The same film an Instax camera ejects
A photo print cut to a polaroid shape

Neither one is wrong — a paper print is cheaper per photo and easier to order in bulk. But if the whole point is that it looks and feels like it came out of an instant camera, the film has to be film. Coming straight from a camera roll? Our digital to polaroid page covers the same flow from that angle.

Frequently asked

Are these real Polaroids?

No. Polaroid is a brand, and we don't use Polaroid-brand film. We print on genuine Fujifilm Instax film, which is the instant film most people picture when they say polaroid style prints. It's real chemical instant film with a physical white border, not paper with a border printed on it.

What film do you use?

Fujifilm Instax. Mini film for 2.1" x 3.4" prints and Square film for 2.4" x 2.4" prints. It's the same film sold for Instax cameras, so the gloss, the border and the color character are identical to a shot that came straight out of one.

Can I print from my iPhone or Android?

Yes. The whole thing runs in your phone's browser, so there's no app to install and no account to make. Upload straight from your camera roll, including screenshots and saved photos, then crop each one and pick a filter before you pay.

How long does it take?

We print and ship your order within 5 business days. Shipping is free on every order and goes out by USPS with tracking, so you get a number to follow once your prints are on the way.

Do you ship outside the US?

Not yet. We ship to US addresses only, and checkout will only accept a US shipping address. More countries are on the list, but everything on this page is US shipping today.

Put it on real film

Pick your photos, choose a border, and we'll print them on genuine Instax. Starting at $18.
